Google first started manufacturing smartphones and other voice-controlled smart speakers in 2016. The products were sold via the company’s online store. Five years down the line Google is giving customers the chance to shop physically for its growing array of products from the store.
Google puts several things into consideration while planning for ho the store will look like. This is evident in the fine attention to details, aesthetics and the warm as well inviting nature of the retail store. The store isn’t just a retail centre but also an experience store where users can try out its various products ranging from the Pixel phones and Nest products. Not just that, customers can also see how Google’s software and services like Google Search, Google Assistant, Google Maps, YouTube, Stadia and many more come to life when in use.
There are several design highlights in the store but one that stands out is the 17-foot-tall circular glass structure which the company calls Google Imagination Space. This is said to have been designed and engineered with local New York partners. The Space has custom interactive screens with rotating exhibits of Google’s products and tech, so that visitors can experience the brand’s products without moving round the entire store. The structure also provides real-time translation of your speech into 24 different languages at the same time.
There is a section of the store dedicated towards providing hands-on interaction with the products. There is equally a team of store attendants conversant with the products on hand to answer your questions. The team can also offer repairs and troubleshoot problems on the spot.
