Belgian Dries Depoorter has created an AI tool that scans your social media and data it has from public cameras and can pinpoint the moment you took a photo (eg a selfie).
The creator of the project named it The Follower and started the process by recording data from cameras in open spaces that transmit live images to sites such as Earthcam.
It then scanned images uploaded to social media from specific locations and accounts with large followings and leveraged related software to match the footage.
