The A-76 iceberg, as scientists call it, was located in recent satellite images taken by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 mission and published by the Office.
The huge size of the A-76 - 4,320 square kilometers - now makes it the largest iceberg on the planet, surpassing the A-23A, which is about 3,380 square kilometers and also floats in the Weddell Sea on the west side of Antarctica
