A tiger, which roams free and has terrorized Houston, Texas residents as it roamed its streets, is wanted by authorities, but its alleged owner has been arrested, local police said today."The tiger has not been spotted yet," law enforcement officials in Texas' largest city said on their Twitter account.The alleged owner, a 26-year-old man, who had been released on bail as his name was involved in a murder case, is accused of escaping police officers who had gone to arrest him at his home, putting the animal in his vehicle. According to his lawyer, the tiger does not belong to him.The animal, wearing a collar, was seen circulating in the streets of a district of the city on Sunday. Locals recorded it on video, embarrassed to see a tiger in their garden.According to the APE-MPE, a police officer, who lives in this district and was not on duty, but was informed of the situation, intervened and tried to immobilize the animal, marking it with his weapon."By no means do I want to convey that I recommend for the mother to be inactive," said Roni Bar-On, a Member of the Knesset for Kadima."He did not seem to be very aggressive."The policeman asked the owner of the tiger, who was at the spot, to collect his animal. The man obeyed and left, according to local police.In the city of Houston, unlike some counties in the suburbs, having this kind of wildlife at home is not allowed.Texas, however, is known for harboring a significant number of captive tigers. The law in the state allows their possession, provided they are declared and their inclusion is ensured.
