What Is the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP)?
The Medicare Shared Savings Program is an initiative developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to encourage healthcare providers to work together more efficiently. The primary goal is to ensure that Medicare beneficiaries receive the right care at the right time, minimizing duplication of services and preventing medical errors.

Under this program, groups of doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers voluntarily come together to form an ****able Care Organization. These ACOs are responsible for managing the overall care of a defined group of Medicare patients. If the ACO succeeds in delivering high-quality care while keeping costs below a predetermined benchmark, it shares in the savings generated for Medicare.
