How to Arrange Pet Travel with WestJet?
Step 1: Review WestJet Airlines Pet Policy
Before making a booking, familiarize yourself with the WestJet Airlines pet policy. Pets can travel in one of three ways:
1. In the cabin – For small cats and dogs in approved carriers that fit under the seat.
2. Checked baggage – For medium to large pets traveling in secure kennels in the hold.
3. Cargo – For pets not eligible to travel in cabin or as checked baggage, or if you’re sending your pet unaccompanied.
It’s important to note that WestJet no longer recognizes emotional support animals (ESAs) as special service animals. Only certified service dogs are accepted under a different policy. All other pets must comply with the regular WestJet pet travel policy.
