Do Security Cameras Really Make a Difference for Home Safety?
Lately, I’ve been noticing more people around me installing security cameras at their homes, especially after a few small incidents in nearby areas. It got me thinking whether cameras actually help prevent issues or if they’re just useful for recording after something happens.
From what I’ve seen, even a basic setup can improve awareness, especially for entry points like gates or garages. Night clarity and motion alerts seem to be the most important features people rely on, rather than advanced or complicated systems.
While looking into different options, I came across this page:

It gave a decent overview of how many types of cameras are available depending on usage, like indoor, outdoor, and night monitoring.
Still trying to understand what really matters in a practical setup. Do cameras actually help deter incidents, or are they mainly for monitoring and evidence? Would be good to hear real experiences from others who have been using them for a while.
