Phoenix Mercury unveil major rebrand ahead of 30th season

The Phoenix Mercury considered doing a major rebranding going into their 25th season in 2021. But like with home renovations, things happen and timetables change. The pandemic impacted resources and priorities, Mercury president Vince Kozar said, and the rebranding was tabled indefinitely but never off his radar. “Something of this magnitude makes the most sense at a seminal moment in the history of the franchise,” said Kozar, who has worked for the Mercury in various capacities since graduating from Arizona State in 2006.

The Big 12 power rankings are published weekly by the Hotline throughout the regular season. WNBA Finals: Phoenix Mercury drop Game 1 in third consecutive playoff series

LAS VEGAS – To keep the Phoenix Mercury’s WNBA Finals Game 1 loss in perspective, remember that Mercury also trailed 1-0 in the playoffs first round and semifinals, both shorter series than the Finals best-of-7. That’s not to minimize the agony of losing 89-86 Friday night to the Las Vegas Aces in a game the Mercury led for 27 of 40 minutes at sold-out (10,266) Michelob Ultra Arena.
