The EH216-S (flying taxi)received its type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on October 13, 2023, making it the first eVTOL vehicle in the world to be cleared for commercial use. 

EH216-S is a passenger-grade autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) developed by EHang, a Chinese company that specializes in urban air mobility (UAM) solutions. It is the world's first certified eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft, meaning that it can fly without a pilot on board and take off and land vertically using electric power. It has two seats, eight pairs of rotors, and three independent flight control systems. It can fly according to a pre-programmed flight plan and communicate with a ground command center. It is mainly designed for UAM commercial passenger transport, but it can also be used for other applications such as  aerial media, and smart city management.
